Join the Women of Colour Network in collaboration with The Pentacrest Museums, the Stanley Museum of Art, and Special Collections and Archives to connect with intentionality behind creating and choosing materials in clothing and design. Come together to enjoy food and conversation as we explore traditions of handmaking and embellishment of objects passed down through generations of artisans.

Griselda Lopez, a lifelong practitioner of Guatemalan weaving will facilitate a workshop on simple bracelet making patterns for attendees to begin making and take home a bracelet of their own.

5–5:15 p.m. Participants will spend time in the galleries looking at artworks which draw on beadwork traditions.

5:15–5:30 p.m. Tour of the Visual Lab/Classroom on the 3rd floor to look at objects from Special Collections and the Pentacrest Museums.

5:30–7 p.m. Worshop will be led by Griselda in the lobby.
