Beloved Community and Moms Demand Action - Johnson County - Iowa have partnered to offer another Ally Workshop for the community after the positive response from the Humanize My Hoodie art exhibition and related programming at the Old Capitol Museum in April.

The co-founders of Humanize My Hoodie Jason Sole and Andre' Wright will offer ally training for Humanize My Hoodie Movement. The workshop is set to cover the challenges of implicit bias, Trayvon Martin, racism on college campuses and in the criminal justice system, how allies can fight for racial equality, how attendees can become official Allies of the Humanize My Hoodie Movement, ending with a closing circle – graduating as an Ally.

These words can be found on HMH co-creator Andre' Wright's personal brand business page: "The senseless killing of people of color and has spurred conversations about society’s perception of the hoodie. Simply put: if you are black and you are wearing a hoodie, YOU ARE CONSIDERED A THREAT. We want you to help us DE-STIGMATIZE clothing trends associated with people of color."

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa–sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact Andre' Wright in advance at N/A or humanizemyhoodie@gmail.com.
